F. Doestoevsky seems to be describing the physical and emotional trauma of the first levels of the transition.
Not everyone has these issues but plenty of people do.
Even Kundalini people.
Just look at what the Kundalini does to a persons reality matrix to see how fear of the unknown can rile us!
Death is birth.
From one reality to another.
One can have this proven if astral projection is explored experientially.
